outfits perfect for easter.
easter was spent the usual way. with lots of good food and family. the food was particularly tasty this time around! we had tofurkey, my famous mushroom & goat cheese potatoes gratin, salad, veggies and my newly famous strawberry drink. recipes are as follows:
mushroom & goat cheese potatoes gratin:
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup whole milk
1 large tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 lbs potatoes
1 package sliced mushrooms
1 package {5 oz.} goat cheese
preheat oven to 400. first, saute mushrooms until browned and put aside. peel & slice potatoes {fairly slim}. next, mix whipping cream, milk, garlic, pepper, nutmeg and salt together. in a 7x7 glass pan, place a thin layer of potatoes at the bottom of pan, then add 1/2 of the sauted mushrooms, crumble 1/3 of goat cheese on top and pour 1/3 of mixture over the potatoes. repeat for second layer. on the final layer, repeat all steps except for the mushrooms. place pan in oven and cook for about 1hr and 15mins. {or until potatoes are completely cooked through}
my newly famous strawberry drink:
1 small package of frozen strawberries
1 large bottle of lemon perrier
1 bottle of lemonade
put 1/2 bottle of lemonade and frozen strawberries in a blender--blend until smooth. pour into pitcher, add the rest of the lemonade and perrier. and viola, you now have the tastiest drink ever.
