gritty hands

remember in arrested development when tobias gets hair implants and his implants begin to reject his body?  well that's what ak is doing to me. it's rejecting my life. it all started with my car...

for the last two months, on my days off i have planned to take my car in for a check up and to get my battery replaced and on every single one of my days off it has either a}snowed so much that i can not drive my car or b}been too cold that my car will not even start.  my poor, poor car has just about had it and can no longer handle this crazy ak weather.  this weekend it was dead for 4 whole days... after about 8 hours of charging the battery, i was able to get it started {thankfully!!}... crossing my fingers it will last through this terribly cold week!

not only has ak rejected my car, but it has begun rejecting my home.  this weekend, while my car was freezing to death, my house was also doing so and then my pipes froze.  booo.  nothing worse than literally being stuck at home with frozen pipes...

what will be next??  

i'm hoping ak begins to let down a little because as nice as it may sound to be in a warmer, more friendly state,  i can't leave juuust yet. :)  

ok, enough complaints... now for some snaps!

       biggest potato chip i have ever seen.  can you believe that humongous genetically modified potato chip made it allll they way to my mouth without even a wee bit of cracking??  i certainly can not.

in the midst of the most bitter, cold weather... we are teased with beautiful blue skies and sparkly white trees.  one of my favorite things about ak. ♥ ♥ ♥

my day

why does a number make us feel a certain way that is not always good?  in the past, that number was something i looked forward to but i guess not any more.  either way, it was my day, i made the best of it and i did what i wanted with it.   now it's time to make goals and accomplish them.  my first is to have no more regrets.  i don't want another birthday to pass with a list of life "to dos" unchecked.   so from now on, i will start checking off that list. 

fall has fallen

i don't mean to sound like a negative nancy but:
i don't want winter to come.
*sniff, sniff... tear*
not yet, at least.
off course i love fall.  i mean really, who doesn't appreciate the amaaaazing fall colors?  but it just happened all too quickly and when i wasn't ready for it.  and then once i was,  it was all gone.  fall had already fallen to the ground.
well, ready or not, here comes winter.  and dang it, i'm going to get myself ready!

what-a-week, what-a-week. let me share

{preface: last weekend was our annual spring sale... it is an exhausting weekend, but good at the same time.}
mon-
day after sale, our store is a mess a MESS. time to put everything together again... store cleaned up, check!
hair appointment, time to freshen up my look.
things don't go exactly as planned... and i ended up leaving the salon with yellow
{and i mean yellow} hair.
*side note, i have a fabulous hair dresser and this wasn't exactly her fault...just some timing issues that came about. :)

next is sushi with my lovely lady friends who unfortunately have to have dinner in completely packed restaurant with pee hair.

THEN it is time to almost shoot my boyfriend with the shotgun because he was pretending to be a predator in our home and scared the living day lights out of me. this happened... for real

brett and i were asked to be guest speakers at the south highschool fashion club. we were very flattered and privileged to attend.
brought dinner to toddy after his lovely surgery

finally pee hair gets taken care of...but i end up leaving with a change that was a little unexpected. hmmmm

fashion show meeting.
work
& dealing with a family change that i'm not so comfortable with.

i've decided tomorrow i'm going to start a new week, even if it is saturday. ....

it happened again.

i got stuck. about 30ft from my driveway and i wasn't going anywhere. i call chris to come help. he grabs the shovel, and starts digging... nothing happens... car #1 passes by. he keeps digging and pushing, car #2-6 pass by and nothing continues to happen. are you kidding me? is it really that difficult to take 5 minutes out of your evening to help someone???? sheesh

then along came 2 incredibly nice gentlemen who decided they could give me 5 minutes of their precious time. and guess what? i only took 2.5 of those minutes.
